Our Offer

At the pediatric clinic in Norrköping, we care for children and adolescents aged 0-18 years. In our catchment area, there are about 40,000 children, and approximately 2,000 births occur annually. We work with planned outpatient care, emergency care, neonatology from week 29 of pregnancy, day care, and advanced home care. Our neonatal unit has 7 beds, and our pediatric ward has 8 beds. Our operations have recently received modern facilities for pediatric emergency care, neonatal unit, and general pediatric ward while renovations and outpatient care are ongoing.

Job Description

We work with child-friendly care with teamwork between different professions, where appropriate medical priorities give us the conditions to create added value for the patient. Development work is carried out continuously; some employees combine clinical work with research. There is an opportunity for support from regional funds and collaboration with H.K.H. Crown Princess Victoria's Children's Hospital in Linköping/Motala.

As a medical chief, you will have an exciting job in an organization focused on development. Here you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in leadership while also contributing to the development of the organization. As a medical chief, you will be part of the clinic's management team, which consists of medically responsible doctors and unit managers and will report directly to the operations manager.

In this role, you contribute to creating a health-promoting workplace with a stimulating and permissive work climate. The role of the medical chief involves responsibility for the work environment and staff for our doctors as well as responsibility for the medical budget. The staff responsibility means that you ensure that the doctors' skills are utilized in the best way and that the individual and organizational goals can be reconciled.

As a medical chief, you work with the recruitment of doctors and the daily management of the medical group together with the operations manager. The assignment as a medical chief is 40% and is combined with clinical work as a specialist in pediatrics.

About You

For the current position, a Swedish medical license and specialist competence in pediatric medicine are required. Experience in acute pediatrics is an advantage; if you also have experience in management and leadership, we see it as positive. The position includes work as a pediatric specialist/senior physician in outpatient and inpatient care and the opportunity to develop in clinical practice. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Research - At the pediatric clinic in Norrköping, there are PhD doctors and doctoral students active in gastroenterology, diabetes, allergy, and neonatology. We view research and doctoral education positively within the position.

Application and Employment

The management assignment is time-limited for 4 years with a permanent employment as a doctor at 100% at the pediatric clinic, Vrinnevisjukhuset in Norrköping. The scope of the position and the start date will be determined by agreement. On-call work is included unless otherwise agreed.
